Her professional background includes 17 years as lead vocalist, and part-time keyboardist and violinist, in two of DC’s premier bands represented by Washington Talent Agency – Black Tie and Fancy Pants. In 2009, she officially founded her own band Chuggalug, then co-founded the originals band ‘Us!’ with late partner Charlie Thomas. In 2014, Consuming Fire (Christian rock band) formed, where PJ lent her talents on keys, vocals, and violin. In 2018, Motel California started performing Eagles and southern California rock tunes to SRO shows in the greater Baltimore area with PJ on keys, vocals and violin.
PJ earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Maryland College Park in 2006. Her classical music resume includes honors in local, state and national piano competitions, and various appearances on television. She studied classical piano under the tutelage of Patricia Hannemann, formerly of the Peabody Institute. At age 15 she was awarded a solo performance with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra for piano performance. While a teenager, she proudly filled the position on violin of concert mistress in the Maryland Youth Symphony Orchestra, with prior violin performances at the Lyric Opera House and a European tour in England, Scotland and the Wales. She has absolute/perfect pitch and studied college theory as a teen. She received musical instruction on the viola and clarinet in order to gain experience reading and playing music in different musical clefs.
Currently, PJ can't wait to perform publicly again, while writing and recording her mostest bestest songs at home with Russ in their Vacation Home Studio.
